15/7/02: Met up with Rahn at 09:30 and headed off to the shooting range . Took an hour by moto-taxi to get to the headquarters. I was basically offered a menu of guns to choose from.

I relaxed had a coke and started to write my order! We then spent half an hour haggling the price. I was being cheeky with the army dudes! I chose to go for some low-key weapons in the form of a B40, AK47, M60, U-ZI and two hand grenades for 300 bucks. As apposed to 340 bucks. Hmmm not much of a discount. Anyhow I was informed that we were going to the jungle to fire off the various weapons. No space in the army camp to do it. Met a British couple from Stoke-on-Trent, who jokingly pointed out that I was going off into the jungle with a group of army chaps, with a load of weapons that I'd already paid for……. Safe! Well I went along. The journey took an hour and half in a 4X4. We arrived at a clearing. One army guy put the targets up, and the other gave me his army jacket to wear.
First up was the U-ZI. Managed to get the target with this one. Kick back was OK.

The AK47 was a bit of a hassle, my right arm wasn’t strong enough, so the shots were off target.

Had to lie down for the M60 machine gun, which was awesome, blasting the jungle to bits!!

Time for a rest before the special of the day. A chance to throw a couple of hand grenades into a pond! Which was nice! Seeing the water explode was cool.

Last and by no means least was the B40 rocket propelled grenade launcher. Shot this on my right shoulder. Was counted down by the army guy. 3-2-1.. go… Woooosh! I was ingulfed in a cloud of smoke. Had to step to one side to see where the grenade went. 2 seconds later an explosion 150m away in the jungle. Fantastic!! Oh yes this was the highlight. Had to be done. Nice little weapon. Every home security needs one!

Went back to HQ and took some more pictures. Then Rahn dropped me off at the guesthouse.
